this morning we got up at dawn to visit a small apartment, where under a bright flood of lights we handled slight slips of cast zinc and were told stories of breathing, sky writing, settling dust, outside the light slowly shifted from deep to pale blue, draining traces of the night
upon leaving we paused to look back at the block of apartments, where all except for one were dark, sleepy, with their curtains drawn, this one particular apartment was emitting from its doorway a slight hum, a tangerine light, an aura of sorts
