point, turn, stop.



it is often the case, when stumbling under cascades of instances of bad art, that one cannot hope but despair. at times like this, perhaps it is helpful to remember previous works that succeeded in evoking a sharp intake of breath and a small glisten of hope. it is important to remember such works. here are some images from "shift" by lisa benson.

"hours of movement collected here. the reciprocity of action shifts through spaces and time. lightness - weight - presence. 100 dead royal new zealand ballet slippers."

this was exhibited at the waikato museum of art and history around 2003-ish.
