I spied this installation recently, a little magical light fitting suspended from a brutalist building on the university of auckland campus. it was lovely being oblivious for a while as to what exactly was going on...it turns out this work is called "fairy bright eyes" is by ryan munro and is part of microsites (a public art show)... these works are medium-term projects... not quite ephemeral, but not everlasting either...
I had been walking past one of these sites -Imperceptible Degrees by Rachel Shearer - for nearly a month before noticing it. Beautiful in its subtlety. The sound of construction at the gallery nearby adds to the effect.
